The Portland Food Cart scene is an essential part of our community. The downtown pod on SW Alder and 10th is “the oldest and largest food cart pod in Portland and sometimes referred to as the “MotherPod.” This pod alone is home to 40 food carts, employing anywhere between 200 - 300 people, many of whom are people of color and immigrants.”
As you no doubt have heard, it’s being displaced to make way for a new development. This Go Fund Me is raising funds to help these local entrepreneurs find a permanent home in “The Culinary Corridor,” which has been proposed for SW 9th Ave. between Director Park and O’Bryant Park.”
